August Rush

I just watched the movie "August Rush" on Friday. It was super good. I loved it. It's about an orphaned boy who's trying to find his parents. He knows they're out there. He hears them... he's a crazy good musician. He's a musical genius just like Mozart. I don't want to ruin the movie but there's one more thing I'll tell you - his parents don't even know he's alive. They were only together for one night and I'll just say the the mom's dad ruined everything so yeah. I loved the movie. I cried!

Summer is almost here!

1 and a half days until summer!!!! Yay!!! I'm soooooo excited. You might be thinking, wow 1 and a 1/2 days that's not very much - it seems like there should be more. And yeah there actually are like 4 days left but I don't have to go. This year at my high school they changed the attendance policy. If you miss 3 days or less of a semester you don't have to take finals! It's awesome. It's a awesome reward for kids who go to school consistently. If I had to take finals I would be so stressed right now and that's not what the end of the year should be like. I really like the new attendance policy and I hope they keep it for future years.

Freak Accident

Today, my boyfriend's best friend crashed his motorcycle.  We watched it happen... it was one of the scariest things I've ever seen.  He was probably going 40-45 mph and his front brake locked up.  His transmission jammed.  And then the bike just laid down.  He rolled.  He didn't seem very hurt at first but after a while he was in a lot of pain.  My boyfriend called 9-1-1 and the ambulance came.  We were all really scared but he's okay now.  He's got some really bad road rash and he broke his collar bone.  The doctor said he'll be okay though.  He's just got to be in a sling for 4-6 weeks.  So, that stinks.  But he's okay and that's what matters.  But if he wouldn't have had a helmet on there's no doubt in my mind that he wouldn't be here right now.  But I'm soooooooo glad he is.  I'm glad he had his helmet on.  I'll never ever ride without a helmet.  I've seen what can happen....

What to do?

It's Friday! Yay! I don't know what I'm going to do tonight though. My boyfriend is in Austin for Track Big Nine and it seems like all of my friends are busy. I really don't know... what's there to do in Albert Lea? I guess I could go out to eat but that's what I always do (and by myself?). Idk. I think the city needs to bring in some new entertainment. Our movie theater is okay but that's like all there is. A roller rink would be sooooooo coooooool! It'd be a super fun thing to do and it'd keep us teens out of trouble. We just need something to do!!! We're bored!

Busy Weekend!!!

I am soooooo tired.... I've been super busy this weekend. On Friday I went to the movie "17 Again" at the Kee Theatre in Kiester with some of my friends. We had a blast. The movie was adorable. Zac Efron was the main character so of course it was amazing. Then on Saturday I had to get up early for my dance rehearsal. Then at 2 we performed. I got done around 2:45 because I was only in the first act. After that i got ready for my jazz concert. That started at 5 and it went really well. When that got done I had to run back for my 7 o'clock dance performance. That was good and then I went out to eat with a couple of my friends. So, it was a CRAZY day! A lot of running around but it was worth it. Everything turned out well and it was fun. Today I had a wedding shower for my cousins fiance up in the cities. I had to get up early for that and we got home a couple of hours ago. It's nice to be home and relax. The shower was cute though. I'm glad this weekend is over though! :) Hope everyone else had a great weekend.

Sophisticate Stress

For my journalistic writing class we are working on our final big project... our own newspaper! It's a lot of work but it's also a lot of fun. We're working on designing our pages now. Our third drafts for our stories are due tomorrow. AHHH!!! There is so much stuff to do. It's cool though to learn what it would be like to work on a newspaper in real life. They create a newspaper in a day. We work for more than a month on one newspaper! I can't imagine how much stress they feel. I'm stressed out about one little story and one little page and I've had a couple weeks to work on it. But they have one day and one story. That's crazy. I wouldn't be able to do it. Plus, it's their job and they could get fired. I can't get fired. I shouldn't complain. I have it way better off than them. So anyways, I better get started on my page...

Motorcycle... heaven???

My boyfriend, Ray, recently bought (with his own money!!!) a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja sport bike for about $6,000. He has been so excited. He's already put on 200 miles and he's only had it for a week. He's in heaven. Me... I'm super excited for him and I get to ride on it whenever I want. We both just got new helmets so that we will be safe. But I get kind of scared. Not because of how he drives, he's a really good driver but just because of the things I've heard that have happened to people. Even if you're a really good driver a car might not see you and run right into you. Who wins? car or motorcycle... I'm pretty sure the car. And I think the person driving the motorcycle won't be 100% okay. On a motorcycle everything is exposed. So, all I'm saying is car drivers need to make sure they look out for motorcycles. Do you want to be responsible for crushing someone under your car? Probably not... so look out.

Dance like everybody's watching

Today I had a dance competition in Minneapolis at the Convention Center. I had to get up at 7 so that was kind of a bummer but that's okay. Some of the girls at my studio had to get up at 4 to be at the convention center by 7 so I was lucky! I had a fun time and it's the last time I ever have to wear that costume and do that dance so that's good. This is my first year ever going to competition and I was so nervous! At the first competition about a month ago I thought I was going to throw up but this time it went better. I didn't mess up as much this time either. We got first in our division but that's only because we were the only group in our division so we were guaranteed first place. The awards you can get are diamond - the best, gold - in the middle, and silver - last. We got silver. So, pretty much that means that we were bad. And it's funny because we got first... I wonder what people were thinking. :) Anyways, that doesn't matter. I had fun and it was a good experience. And we got to go shopping after so of course it was an awesome day! Oh, yeah and next Saturday the 16th is our recital at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center so you should all come and check it out. It'll be worth your time. There is one show at 2 and one at 7. I also have a jazz concert that day at 5 so it's going to be a busy day for me!!! AHHH!!! But anyways, hope to see everyone at the recital and even at the jazz concert.

Birthday...

It's my 17th birthday tomorrow.  It's weird though... I'm not that excited.  I mean when I was little I'd get so excited for my birthday and I'd have an awesome day but now it's just another day.  It's not the best day of the year.  It's just a day.  I don't know if that happens to everyone.  I'm just another year older.  I was born 17 years ago.  Anyways, it'll be a good day.  It's the big 17!  :)

If Today Were My Last Day

If today were my last day...
I'd go skydiving.
I'd tell you I love you.
I'd drive 120 on the interstate.
I'd tell you I was sorry.
I'd wake up late.
I'd forgive you.
I'd eat a super-sized McDonald's fry.
I'd call you up just to talk.
I'd get lost.
I'd forget my homework.
I wouldn't have any regrets.
I won't forget.
